Tuesday's Tips for Preppers - Misc. Tips - Part 6

Here are a few more tips for your everyday struggle to survive. Hopefully you will find them of benefit. Once again it’s Tuesday and here are some more preppin’ tips.

Preppin’ Tip #1 – Make Your Own Furniture Polish

Mix 1/2 teaspoon of olive oil and 1/4 cup of vinegar or lemon juice (if you want it scented) in a glass jar. Use a soft cloth to wipe your wood surfaces. Seal the container after use. This solution will keep indefinitely. No refrigeration needed and it’s all natural – just like your wood!

Preppin Tip # 2 – Protecting Your Poultry

If you have trouble with your hens eating their own eggs, simply wipe some mustard (the yellow stuff you put on sandwiches) on the shells of the eggs. Problem solved.

Caution: This is not the way to make an egg sandwich!

Preppin Tip # 3 – Tied Up In Knots

Sprinkle stubborn knots with a little corn starch and they should slip apart easily afterwards. Just don’t get frustrated and pull your Ka-bar out too fast!

Preppin’ Tip # 4 – Make A Quick and Easy Lure

Make a quick and easy lure when fishing by coating small pieces of sponge with petroleum jelly. This simulates fish egg bait. Trout anyone?

Preppin’ Tip # 5 – Trying to Quit?

Need some short term relief from nicotine withdrawal symptoms. If you're not on a low-sodium diet or have ulcers, drink two Alka-Seltzer tablets dissolved in a glass of water several times a day (at every meal should be sufficient). This will help alleviate your cravings. After a few days, you shouldn’t need this treatment and may be on your way to being nicotine free. Of course, if you just ran out of smokes, it helps too!

Making life easier a few tips at a time!

Staying above the water line!
