Off the Trail
Sometimes you have to get off the trail in order to see some of the natural beauty in nature. You just need to make sure you don't get lost when you make the decision to take a little detour.
Got detour?

Yeah, you have to be careful when going cross country, the trail can easily be lost if you are not paying attention. Have to make sure any kids you are traveling with are watched too, their curiosity can get them in trouble sometimes.
I lol when I saw a pair of Bear bells for sale in local Wal-Mart (I'm in deep south Texas where bear scat is only slightly more common than rocking horse scat), but those bells would be useful for that purpose. And tell them, "If you get lost, just shake those bells until someone comes along".

Kids can move pretty quick. If you don't watch them closely, they can disappear before you know it. They will often see something of interest and will be looking to "investigate" it further without realizing they've gotten off the trail.
Don't need bear bells around here either but a decent whistle always comes in handy.
Thanks anon.
