Anonymous said...: Yup, amazing the lengths nature will do to overcome. Many years ago, a cactus pad seedling somehow got stuck in the crevice of an angle iron frame on one of our deer blinds. Absolutely no soil whatsover - but it still grew! When that blind was finally torn down, the plant had at least 3 - 4 small pads, thats resilient and a will to live!; May 18, 2011 at 7:21 AM

Agreed.

If you try to fight nature, you are going to lose that battle and in a serious way. It's a better strategy to work with Nature instead of against it.
