Riverwalker's Pics - Tracks in the Snow

It's not often that we get snow in South Central Texas but we got a recent dusting of about two inches. This is pretty much nothing compared to what the rest of the country is going through right now. We did experience some"rolling blackouts" which seemed to upset a lot people. Maybe they just don't realize the fragile nature of our country's infrastructure. Oh well, one more reason that it's best to be prepared.

Staying above the snow line!

I actually enjoy the snow, it's the ice that's a pain. Two inches on top of all the snow, and now more snow coming down. Still, wouldn't live anywhere else. You make do, you learn what you need to get by.

Waffles help.

We had a similar problem in that there was a lot of sleet and freezing rain that iced up the roads pretty bad. I wound up working fairly late and had to drive a ways on the icy roads...a normal 15 minute trip took me 45 minutes. It was a little rough getting up the hill to my home but slowly and surely managed.

The snow wasn't so bad but the 2 inches of ice from the sleet and freezing rain underneath created a real driving hazard.

Ice on the roads (and everything else) is the norm for our part of the country and pretty much shuts everything down till it melts.

Thanks Brigid. Stay warm!
