The safe use of firearms is a must for any gun owner or anyone who is contemplating becoming a gun owner. Safety is of paramount importance when it comes to the safe handling and use of firearms. If I may add something here about the course, the course is free to take however in order to get the certificate it will cost you $25. The certificate is needed for some states such as Delaware to take the live fire portion in order to get a hunting license. I am sure other state function similarly.
