Simple Survival Tips - How to Make a Mustard Poultice

To make a mustard poultice, mix one part of dry mustard with three parts of flour, then add enough water to make a paste. Spread the paste on some cotton material (an old pillowcase works well), fold it, and place it on the chest to help soothe a cough and congestion.

Check the poultice regularly, as a mustard poultice gets very warm and can cause blisters if it’s left on too long. Twenty to thirty minutes is usually a sufficient amount of time. This is a very basic type of poultice.

Staying above the water line!
