In an emergency situation or during a natural disaster, it will be of the utmost importance that you maintain your body’s health and well being. This will allow you to have the necessary strength for any tasks that may need to be performed. Eating properly will enable you to do what is necessary to insure the best possible outcome for you and your family. Here are a few tips on the importance of nutrition.
Maintaining Nutrition
1.) Make sure you eat a minimum of one well-balanced meal each day and as many snacks as necessary to keep your strength at a proper level.
2,) Always make sure you drink sufficient liquids to enable your body to function properly and thereby avoid the effects of possible dehydration.
3.) Plan your daily meals so that they include as much variety and nutrition as possible.
4.) Make sure that your daily calories are sufficient to cover the amount of work you plan on doing during the emergency or crisis.
5.) Make sure to include vitamin and mineral supplements to provide needed nutrition that may not be provided by your food items.
Always use common sense and your best judgment when making a decision as to what types of food items you will be stocking. Try to stock as many food items as possible that are easy to prepare and taste good. Remember, taste matters! Storing food items which are difficult to prepare in an emergency or during a crisis and that are unlikely to be eaten by you or members of your family could be a very costly mistake at a very bad time.

Good advice.
ReplyDeleteAs to vitamins, are you aware of the time-release vitamins? They're formulated by the creator of time-release capsules.
See http://www.internet-grocer.net/vitamins.htm
Also, consider sprouts for needed enzymes. (They'll store for 9 years or more.) http://www.internet-grocer.net/sprouter.htm
Sprouts are a great idea. Provide many of the benefits of vegetables yet can be stored for long periods of time. Good call.
