Riverwalker's Pics - Tree Cactus Squirrel

Even the smallest of nature's creatures knows the value of thorny plants for protection.

Got cactus?

Its amazing where prickly pear will take root. Many years ago, one was growing from an angle iron deer blind frame, sandwiched between plywood and frame. I couldn't believe it took root with NO EARTH WHATSOEVER, thats a pretty resilient plant.

Nature can teach us a great deal if we pay attention.

Thanks Gorges.

I think as long as there is some type of moisture accumulation cactus can take root just about anywhere. It doesn't have to be very much moisture either.

Thanks anon.
