Riverwalker's Pics - Fast Moving Water


Although many claim that fast moving water may be safe to drink, it's always best to filter and purify any source of water before you consume it. 


Better to be safe than sorry.

    Ahhh, yes. Fast moving water is less likely to have harmful pathogens, but you never know what's just up stream from you. Could it be a decaying animal that fell 1/2 in the water? That could be bad.

    Better to purify.

    As a last resort, drinking from a fast moving stream might save you from dehydration but if you can find a way to filter and purify you'll be a lot safer.

    As you said, you never know what's upstream.
