Survival Essentials - A Sense of Humor

Sometimes if you find yourself in a bad situation, your emotions can work to hinder your efforts at survival. This is where having a good sense of humor will benefit you. It’s one of those intangible things that you can keep in your survival kit. It doesn’t weigh anything and won’t take up any space but will help to keep your spirits up when things aren’t going your way.

A sense of humor will help prevent you from getting depressed and losing hope. It can help you maintain a positive attitude about your survival. It's one of the easiest ways to handle the mental stress of survival. Sometimes you have to lighten things up a little and one of the best ways to do that is with a good sense of humor.

So the next time you find yourself lost in the wilderness, just tell yourself “I’m not really lost. They just haven’t found me yet and everything will be OK because I had a big breakfast three days ago.”

Got a sense of humor for survival?

This is important even before you get lost in the woods etc. Today, while we're madly prepping and frantically reading doomsday news clips, we need to smile and laugh and enjoy the life we have. Why do we want to survive when TSHTF if there's nothing to smile about?

Absolutely. Laughter, as they say, is the best medicine.

So true. The current chaos that is raging everywhere is almost enough to make you give up hope. Somehow people manage to survive and are able to pick up the pieces of their life that are left and continue with their lives.

With the current rash of tornadoes, floods, wildfires, drought, earthquakes and volcanoes, it seems that we are being continually assaulted on all fronts by the forces of nature.

And it's not just nature. The falling value of the dollar, the current debt crisis that no one seems to take seriously and are not willing to do what's necessary to correct it and our country's failing infrastructure are all contributing to the current crisis.

A little humor is sometimes the only thing that can lighten the load when you consider all the bad stuff that is happening and keep you from giving up hope for your survival.

Thanks mama4x.
