  4. I took my wife out to shoot my Ruger Mark III. She had a lot of fun and she really liked that there was not a noticeable recoil and that she could reliably hit targets with it. When the SHTF, this is a superb survival weapon. It's great for taking game, and it's extremely reliable.

  5. my regrets.

In the early 1970's I sold my ruger standard model 4" bl nine rounder no hold open after the last round for $ 80.00...there was nothing wrong with it.
I just wanted to upgrade to the Mk. II 6 7/8 bl target model. I still got it.
but I miss that little gun. If i want to replace it now. Those $80.00 will pay for the taxes and registration only.

Dont make the same mistake. If you have a good gun, keep it as spare.

This is a companion sidearm for my Ruger 10/22...both use the same caliber.

Only need to carry one type of ammo...

    Thanks bob.

It seems that great minds really do think alike.

Nice little pistol that's for sure!

Small caliber but can be quite deadly if it hits the right spot.

    Thanks Ken.

The newer MKIII version has the adjustable sights if I'm not mistaken.

My MKII has the fixed sights.

    Thanks anon.

I have also sold some guns that I now wish I had kept but regret that at the time it was necessary.

    Gracias amigo. Vaya con Dios!

  11. Eggzzelent firearm, the Ruger .22 Automatic is a bulletproof design. My brother and I each have one, a pair of Targets, his a blued 6 7/8" tapered barrel, mine a 5 1/2" stainless steel pistol. Both run flawlessly, and shoot better than we can hold them.

Back in those days, Standards like yours sold for just over a C-Note (early 80's), they've gone up a mite since then.

Although not a target model, this is a pistol that I plan to keep if at all possible. I like the way it feels and handles.

    Thanks anon.

  13. I like the color of the pistol featured in this post. It's very clean-looking. My Dad is a fan of nice hunting firearms and coatings of firearms. Coatings that are of high quality and easy to find in the market are his recent favorites. He learned about firearm coatings when he started blogging a year ago.

Thanks for the nice photos, Riverwalker!
