Stormy Weather Strikes on Discovery's Dual Survival Tonight

Stormy weather strikes on Discovery’s Dual Survival tonight at 10 PM ET/PT in an all new episode. As usual, Cody will be “barefootin’ it” with his “hippie style” survivalism and Dave will probably be looking for “meat to eat”…the man needs his protein after all!

This episode deals with a hurricane's aftermath. Cody and Dave find survival resources among some unlikely items…trash. Their journey begins at the Dominican Republic's coast and is filled with creatures that sting. Dave, as usual, ignores Cody's advice about hunting the deadliest one of them all.

Clips from Friday night's episode are available at the below links:

Got survival trash?

Staying above the water line!

Cool - hope I don't forget to watch, I've missed the last several shows, darn it. I think the preceding show is MAN WOMAN WILDERNESS - I'm trying to remember to catch that one as well.

I've only been marginally entertained by this so far. I like both Dave and Cody but together they just make a horrible pair. The way they edit the show it seems as though all Dave can think about is how Cody going bare foot is going to kill them both and on the flip side it seems all Cody can think about is why Dave is taking so many stupid risk.

Granted both men have points and they are both doing somethings that no one should try in a survival situation but do we really need to hear these same arguments every single episode?

All in all it's still a pretty decent show but if your going to watch something to actually learn bushcraft/survival techniques then grab a copy of Survivorman instead. I would rate this show some where between the ridiculously stupid / dangerous Man v. Wild and Survivorman.

Just my 2 cents so take it for what it's worth.

The main problem with "survival shows" is that they are entertainment first and survival demonstration second. The one survival skill you better have is the ability to get along with your fellow survivors.

Going without shoes is a good way to injure your feet, I remember the videos from hurricane Andrew where every dim bulb in Florida seemed to be wearing flip flops or sandals and the medical people were saying that they were treating most people for foot injuries. And taking stupid risks (Bear Gryles style) is a great way to get injured where there is no help.

Doing something stupid to create conflict may help ratings but in the real world it only lessens your odds of surviving so does pointless bickering.

I've watched most of the episodes ...picked up a few tips but not much of anything that hasn't been covered before but still decent entertainment.

Thanks anon.

I think they put a little too much conflict between the two in a situation where cooperation is going to be a key factor. After all, we are talking about survival...

Thanks.

The contrast in survival styles may have been taken to the extreme. They've had a few times when the strength of one has made up for the weakness of the other and should probably showcase this type of problem resolution more.

They have done some things that would be a definite "no-no" in a true survival situation.

But then again they probably had a LifeFlite helicopter standing by with a full medical team...just in case.

Thanks anon.

I quit watchin' after the first show. All they seem to do is pick at each other like an old married couple. Yawn!

I think like most TV shows they put a lot of the "entertainment" factor into the show to help ratings.

On the most recent episode Dave's 5C's of survival was a decent tip...cut, cover, combustion, container, and cordage.

Dave going after the honey though was a really reckless thing to do...you just never know how big a bee colony might be and the consequences of multiple bee stings could have been deadly (although they probably had a med team close by).

Thanks.
