Mountain Survival Shelters - The Debris Hut

Shelter is one of the main requirements for survival and Nature provides plenty of building materials for you. Building a survival shelter can be hard work. If done properly, it can make a big difference in your survival. Here are some pics of an actual debris hut.

Nature will supply you with the materials needed for your survival. The rest is up to you.

    Common problem is making the shelter too large to leverage the heat generated by your body.

    Best model for a debris hut is a squirrel nest.

    The picture you showed looks more like a wikiup, although it is covered in debris.

    The typical (and most efficient in cold weather) debris shelter is little more than an insulated nest that you can barely crawl into.

    This is a little larger than a normal survival shelter but was made to shelter more than one person.

    It is close to being a wikiup though.
