...never seen one in the woods,although as a child,was told a 'scream' we heard,was one...spooky stuff for a kid...
We got a mama and her cub hanging around at work. And a quickly dwindling population of cottontails and hogs!
I've never seen one either, but I have over the years seen some cat tracks in the monte. My brother claims to have seen one one time, and the tracks seen there confirm it was a large cat - no way a large dog or a smaller exotic cat.
I think they are classified as the 2nd largest cat in the Americas, the Jaguar taking 1st. It the 3rd largest cat in the world, behind Tiger and African Lion.

Tracked one in my area for a couple of days...saw lots of tracks but never got a glimpse of it.
It's a different story with a couple of good huntin' dogs around...

They usually have a range that will cover about a hundred miles...makes them pretty scarce in most parts.

If you see the tracks, then they are around. Chances of seeing them are pretty slim...they're good at not being seen and may even be watching you...
