Be sure and google the items you can make with duct tape. I've seen Duct tape coat, duct tape wallet - like you said, a whole bunch of uses.
I used to be a huge fan of duct tape, but in the Army, 100mph tape was truly stronger... and now, Gorilla tape (brand name) makes silver duct tape look whimpy.
Get a few rolls, stash them around the house and in your cars, BOB, etc.
Most of the time, these tapes retain adhesion after being "stuck" so you can also put several wraps around knife sheaths, tools, etc. to have a few strips handy.
...if ya can't fix it...'duct' it...
...trash bags and duct tape, the almost never mentioned prepper items of necessity...
Duct tape is truly an essential item in any BOB, car kit or other emergency prep kit. It has saved my tail on many an occasion.
I've seen the Gorilla tape Dustin mentioned, but have never given it a try. I think I'll grab a roll this weekend to see what it's all about.
Last year I gave my 2 young adult daughters the single womans fix anything kit. It is a roll of duct tape and a can of WD-40. the instructions say "If it moves and is not supposed to;use duct tape, if it doesn't move and it is supposed to use WD-40"
Great comments everyone. Duct tape is one of the things that has gotten a lot of people out of a jam more than once...myself included!
Don't leave home without it!
Thanks.

+1 on the Gorilla Tape. But I still call it Duct tape. Kinda like all bath tissue is Kleenex. I've used duct tape to repair a pair of boots 2 days into a 2 week field exercise.
BTW I linked the article up on PrepperBuzz.com a couple votes gets it to the front page.
