Nature Video - Mr.Redheaded Woodpecker

Here's a short video clip of a red-headed woodpecker taken by RW Jr. He needed a little encouragement in order to hang around long enough to be video-taped. A little birdseed did the trick. It's amazing how a little food will get something (or someone for that matter) to hang around longer than normal.

Staying above the water line!

Those are the species that fly like a sine wave, right? (arc and down) Man, I hate those woodpeckers. They make holes in plywood deer blind panels, deteriorating them prematurely (like being outdoors 24/7/365 isn't enough).

Like squirrels, like to snitch on sneaky hunters in the monte (he's over here, OVER HERE!) oo boy, those things have it in for me. We don't have squirrels down here, but woodpeckers, an overabundance if you ask me.

Nice video btw.

They will make a hole in just about anything that's wood. I've got some trees with soft wood and they like to make their nests in them. They do make a lot of noise with their pecking.

BTW, I've got squirrels too!
