The above picture shows a rifle cartridge butt cuff loaded with 3 rounds of 2 1/2 inch 000 buck, 3 rounds of 3 inch # 7 1/2 heavy game load shotshells, and 3 rounds of 2 1/2 inch 1/4 shot slugs. This gives you an additional 9 rounds you can carry on your .410 gauge shotgun quite easily. You can separate the 000 buck and the slug shotshells with the longer 3 inch game loads making it easier to reload with the appropriate round without having to check the size.
Got extra rounds for your .410?

...Fantastic Tip...put it on a minute ago(had an xtra one anyway)...
ReplyDelete...definitely filed under:why didn't i think of that before...
Very good tip sir, I have the Beartooth products synthetic rifle cuff on my .410 for that very reason. Those 410 single shots make a good 'grab 'n go' shotgun when doing fence inspection duty.
ReplyDeleteIf you'd rather forego the cuff, but still want a .410 ammo container, those Dollar Store reading glass cases will do very well too, will fit 5 - 6 rounds of 3" shells.

ReplyDeleteOK, you can stop pulling my leg now. Surely you knew about this trick already.
Thanks for being kind to an old guy....it's appreciated!

ReplyDeleteWasn't aware of the reading glass case as an ammo carrier...great tip!
Thanks anon!

You are welcome RW - I didn't put the case and ammo together until the .410 box and case were next to each other. Certainly beats carrying it loose in pocket.
ReplyDeleteThose eyeglass cases are handy - I use them for pocket change, SAK knife case (those key ring attachments sometimes tear heck out of pockets) and such.

ReplyDeleteIt's funny how ideas come about sometimes. Just have to keep an open mind to all the possibilities.
