Camping Cookware Combo

Camping gear can be an excellent addition to your preparedness efforts. Everything from tents to tarps, from sleeping bags to cookware and everything in between can come in handy in an emergency or during a crisis. One of the most useful items you can have is camping cookware. It is usually lightweight, versatile and you won't have to use the wife's good pots and pans if you have to cook outdoors during a crisis.

While cast iron cookware is extremely rugged and durable, it is also heavy and cumbersome. In many cases, weight can be an important factor. One of the items I have is a camping cookware combo that helps to fill in with something that is lightweight and extremely portable and doesn't take up very much space. The whole thing combines into a lightwieght package and can be carried easily.

It also serves as a back-up cookset and is ideal for truck camping or for carrying in your bug-out vehicle.

Staying above the water line!

Thanks for the info. Currently I have an odd ball collection of the pots the wife no longer wants. However, these take up a lot of space. I like how everything packs together.

The way the handles on the frying pans go on and off makes it a great set of cookware. It's really compact. Thanks.

Picked it up some time ago at a yard sale. Decided to take a few pics and post them. I only paid a few bucks for it back when I got it.

Garage and yard sales are the way to go to find good inexpensive items.

You know I love yard sale's,made another great score today! A hand crank meat grinder!In the original box! Look's like it's 50 yr's old,but all the stuff is there,spare blade's and such.Clamp's to the table,turn the crank....Need's a bit of cleaning,seem's it sat around a while,but for 5 buck's???

You are one lucky guy to find a hand crank meat grinder at a yard sale. They are impossible to find around here.

I hate to sound sadistic, but the best yard sale's are when granny died, and the kid's are selling off stuff they have no clue how to use.The kid's are just out to clean up the house to sell.My ex loved going antique shopping at them,I was more into the camping gear. You never know what you'll find til you look!

I am a huge fan of camping cookware and mess kits of this type. My favorite though are the small lightweight type of kits like the ones shown at camping cookware. You can buy them cheap at Wal Mart or online.

Thats a great set up there, especially for multiple folks. I have a small solo setup, but nothing like that kit - sounds like I need to do some poking around and see if I can find one myself.

I think a large stock pot will be important, especially for heating water for washing dishes and clothing, not to mention bathing.

You are quite right in that a lot of times people are just seeking to get rid of stuff. One man's trash is a nother man's treasure!

The large stock pot in my set probably sees as much use as the other stuff combined, with the exception of the small fry pan.
Thanks.
