This is the 22 rifle I received as a birthday present from Mrs. RW. There hasn’t been much time for me to get used to shooting it, just a little plinking and some dillo damage.
The scope was a gift from a co-worker and seems to work OK. Until I get some more practice time in with the rifle, I don’t plan to change it unless I have some serious problems with accuracy that isn’t due to my poor rifle skills. I’m hoping the money might be available for me to return the favor and get the wife her own for Christmas. This will keep me headed in the direction of “common guns” that I’ve decided to pursue. Of course, this will be in addition to something else of a more personal nature (perfume, clothes, etc.). Have to take care of the little lady, besides she can always use another rifle!

You'll love the rifle, but hate the butler creek crap. They will crack around the feed lip's,a pain to load without the speed loader, and plain don't fit right.I also added a Fiberforce stock on mine, made it way lighter,I think I got it on Ebay for under 50 buck's,and it look's cool!

Thanks for the heads-up on the Butler Creek mags. I'll probably stick with the wooden stock for now.

RW, I've been shooting my 10/22 for about a year and really like it. There are some simple and cheap upgrades, though, that really improve the stock rifle: extended mag release, auto bolt release, and a recoil buffer. Plus, the stock trigger pull is too high. I replaced the hammer and trigger springs, which, according to the literature, brings the pull down to about 2.5lbs. That's pretty light. I'd really like a pull in the 3.5 - 4lb range, but haven't yet found how to get it. Oh, and keep the wood stock so that you can install sling swivels.

Thanks for the tip on sling swivels - that's in the plans. I don't figure to change the action as far as trigger pull but may be an option for future consideration. Thanks.

I wish my Lady would get me the ACU Digicam version of the 10/22 to go with her 10/22, Walmart version.
I like my Marlin Model 60 though . . .
Yep, I am a little envious. :)
Enjoy the new rifle.

Wouldn't mind having a couple of Marlin Model 60's....so many guns, so little money!
