If you haven’t walked in your own garden and felt the dirt between your toes, you are really missing out on one of life’s little pleasures. It’s enough to make you want to stop wearing shoes! Maybe you’ve never jerked a cherry tomato off the vine and popped it into your mouth and felt your taste buds swell with the pleasure of a taste that can’t be found in store-bought produce.
Corn tastes sweeter and radishes have a lot more snap to them, especially when you grow your own! Home-grown veggies also retain a lot more of their nutrients and aren’t coated with a bunch of polish and pesticides. Avoiding the polish and pesticides is reason enough to grow your own and it just might make a difference in your health.
Growing your own food can save money on your food bill and give you a chance to experience unique heirloom varieties of vegetables that aren’t found in the produce section of your local grocery.
Got garden?
BTW, Don't don’t forget the salt! It's great on those fresh tomatoes!
Staying above the water line!

Now yer REALLY makin' me hungry! I had some nice cherry tomatoes a couple years ago, but the tree rats kept cleanin' 'em out!
Right on about the vegs. I grew my own for the first time this year. What a difference in quality! Yep, you have to actually get your hands dirty (a task that would be a first to most of the current society) but the work is very rewarding. When you are eating fresh green beans straight off plant for dinner, or slicing a tomato that was still GROWING ten minutes before, all your hand work becomes worth it.

I've got a friend who hides her cherry tomatoes or the kids gobble them up before she gets any!

Don't I know it! And it's an awesome feeling to go back to your garden and see how much it's grown, even in one day. I have 10 tomato plants and every day I am getting tomatoes. A fresh, vine ripened tomato tastes nothing like the bland store-bought ones. Delicious!
