Have you ever seen a BIG Texas gator? Here's a good one for you from a small town in Texas with a few rattlesnakes thrown in for good measure!
A Texas Power and Light crew, putting in lines for an addition , found the following in a culvert they were using...
The gator was 18' 2" in length.
Another use for duct tape!
The rattlesnake roundup totaled a final count of 87.
Got stick?
Special thanks go out to Texas Power & Light for sharing these pictures.
Staying above the water line!

WOW! Was this recent? I would've ran for the hills if I saw something like that.

This is an amazing photo! Had to get a tape measure out to put it in perspective--mind boggling. Do you happen to have the follow up to this story? How did they subdue it? Who managed to put the duct tape around the jaws? Did they kill the gator?
ReplyDelete...is true...everything's bigger in Texas...
ReplyDeleteDang, Talk about Lake Placid come to life - how long does it take to get one that big? We have some big ones down here in Atascosa Wildlife refuge, but I don't think anything THAT big.

ReplyDeleteFairly recent. Might be best to hide someplace OTHER than a culvert.
Thanks Matt.

BTW, Run very, very fast and don't look back!

ReplyDeleteSorry, don't have a lot of details but if I hear anything ...I will post an update. It is more than likely that Animal Control had to put down a gator this large because of its sheer size.
Thanks Linda.

Man, that's a LOT of snakes in one place! Guess I won't be hiding in a culvert anytime soon...!

ReplyDeleteIt's a BIG one for sure. I think that may be "Gator Tex" standing in the background. LOL
Thank you Molly!

It isn't recent, although I guess it could have been in Texas. Florida denies it belonged to them.
