I like eating bass, but if its channel cats, I have to count my fingers after the meal - YUM! Bass certainly do give a great fight. Love to see them hammer a top water - man, that gets the pump going, lol.
It is fun when bass hit your lure unexpectedly like that...for sure.
As far as catfish goes...that's pretty much a staple part of my diet...they're so thick in one of the lakes where I go fishing that all I use is a handful of bread crumbs, a bucket and rope to catch them. Throw some crumbs on the water and scoop them up in the bucket. The rope is to keep me from falling in the water!
