Managed to get fifty pounds of cabbage and we’re going to be busy for the next couple of days. Mrs. RW makes some great cole slaw. I use it to bribe my son-in-law…he really likes the way she makes it.Mrs.RW also likes boiled cabbage and she also plans to make some sauer kraut, which happens to be a personal favorite of mine. This is a good thing.
We also spent some time with the grandson on Saturday evening and did a little shopping on the way home Sunday afternoon. Found a great pair of hiking boots at Academy Sports and Outdoors that were 50% off and since I needed a new pair that was a real bargain.
Mrs. RW also made sure I picked up some more .30/.30 rounds for our rifles.
Bought a 100 rounds to get by with for the time being and most of it will be going into my stock of ammunition. While we were at it, we also picked up a couple of bricks of .22lr and a case of 12 gauge (250 rounds). So we’re pretty well set for the time being on ammo. We still need to make a trip to the meat packing place to pickup some more items for the freezer.
Picked up some other miscellaneous items but those are a topic for later. Got a painting job lined up for in the morning to make some extra cash to help pay for all this stuff. Need to hit the sack a little early tonight. Hope everyone enjoyed my son-in-law’s guest post on those ugly darn smokers. Thought I might mention the fact that I’m not really skinny. I just have a high rate of metabolism. More later.

Cabbage is great food, on of my favorites due to being so high in nutrients. Great SHTF garden vegetable.
Can't go wrong with the ammo. .22Lr and 30-30 are going to be in very high demand one day.
Cabbage goes well with many things, as do 30-30 slugs
Share her recipe for sauer kraut? I've made 2 batches, in the last few years. First year - terrific... second - horrible.
